Last year I had reconstructive surgery on both knees. Before the surgery I had weak puny quadriceps. Afterwards, I could finally start building my quads. Before meeting Mark, I had worked with two physiotherapists with master’s degrees in kinesiology. They were much more expensive, and I did not progress with either of them nearly as much as I did once I began training with Mark.
To begin with, they prescribed “cookie cutter, one size fits all” exercise routines that focussed solely on my knees. Mark has a much larger “knowledge bank” of exercises, including many that address other joints, which must work in conjunction with our knees. I found it amazing how much the strength and mobility of my hips, ankles and feet affected the power and proper movement of my knees.
Moreover, neither of the physiotherapists I worked with paid enough attention to my form. They would show me exercises and explain the form I needed to maintain, then move on to other clients with whom they were multitasking. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to me I wasn’t maintaining my form as well as I should have been, especially as I became fatigued. The next day I’d be too sore to work out, which would impede my progress.
When you work with Mark he is fully engaged. He watches his clients diligently as they perform their sets to ensure they maintain the right form. He can tell when someone is beginning to strain … and he can tell when they can progress to extra weight or more reps.

I’ve trained with Mark for five months and he is knowledgeable and professional. After discussing my fitness goals with Mark, I chose to focus on mobility and strength. He is providing a program of exercises that I find enjoyable and effective.
